As I completed this only two weeks ago and as it fits the theme why not recycle it. Yes, it's immoral but I'm that kind of guy. Those who have previously commented when this piece was last "aired" there is no need to comment again.

You just have to love cephalopods.

If new readers/viewers are interested in the process and devlopment of this piece then they can trawl the various entries on this blog with the word "Squid" in the entry title.

Now off to work I go to do some "portraits".

Who needs morals and ethics when one has cephalopods? Don’t know if I commented before (too lazy to check) but let me just add: wow.

Have to thank you for saving me this week. I was a little stuck on the theme,  but your post inspired me to also do sea creature!

A very nice piece - great contrast and detail in the rendering - makes me feel bad for all the sushi I’ve eaten.

Really wonderful art. Very cool.

Judging by your visits with me, I would never have guessed you possessed such sensitivity to detail as well as the ability to manage a drawing tool with this kind of grace and skill. I am dumbfounded and delighted!

Speaking of a love for cephlopods, as a girl I fell in love with an octopus. He lived in a tank at a restaurant and we gazed into one another’s eyes throughout the entire evening until my parents forced me to go home with them. It was heartbreaking and I have always remembered him with great fondness…after seeing this lovely rendering of your’s, that is. Thank you for the memories.

Hey, real cool work. I had a looked through your drawings section too and there’s some good stuff in there too - I especially like your experimentation with a sparse palette on the odd drawing and also your playfulness with composition! And hey, another Aussie, WOO!

Hey this is great. I’m sorry I don’t post more Detlef, I love your work,  but I’m always a bit lost on your site. I’ll try to be better in 06.

this looks like an old boyfriend of mine.
