Those red lips take the stage! Aires of allure, romance and excitement! Knowing they look extra glamorous enlarged; secretly glad you spared me the torture smile If we could be as glamorous at all times like this!

The lips have it!

And making recycling glamorous is very noble of you…

Yeah, I’m digging the red lips, too. Nice work

I agree with Anonymous—the red lips are a super touch. It reminds me that I once did a three-panel painting like this that would be perefect for the glamour theme but have no idea where it went. Is this framed and hanging in some boudoir somewhwere? It should be! Nice work.

VERY glamourous!  Great job as always.

Your work (recycled or not) has that film noir look.  Sometimes reminds of book covers of the old ace paperbacks.

The Unknown: I believe you are quite glamourous in real life, so you must know what you’re talking about.

Anon: Being a foppish dandy (not) I too am always this glamourous.

Caroline: Glamour is glamour irrespective of whether in its original form or whether it is recycled.

Persephone: I surprised myself with those lips, I managed to get that deep red with just coloured pencil (damned if I can remember how)

Andrea: This is a digital collage, bits and pieces from previous drawings and IF submissions just run together.

TeriC: Thanks for your kind comments.

Janey: I’m still hanging out for a book illustration deal (noir of course).

>> This is like a whole glamour story.. which girl is being kissed in the end….

[ and thnx for your command.. ]

yes, each drawing is a perspective on glamour, sharp illustration

Very glamourous and well drawn.

Posted by Katili on 29.01.06 at 10.46pm

the first three seem the most glamorous to me (the fourth more sexy), each woman so perfectly groomed and coiffed for exactly that effect, your wonderful film “noir” shadings adding to that, very nice!

Jumped around your portfolio here and recognize the drawings from the first two panels… The film noir situation of the second panel is especially wonderful. Recycled or not, the crops you’ve chosen here are great, and all show different elements of glamour. Cool.

Beautiful!  My favorite is the kiss on the far right…there’s such allure in those glamorous red lips.

Is that first one Billie Holiday?

Posted by Big A on 31.01.06 at 09.19am

Esther: Yes it can be construed as a glam fable

Hardwax: (unusual alias) glamour is that sharp that it can cut deeply if one isn’t careful.

Katili: Thanks

Cin: I think #3 looks a bit out of place, it’s drawn in more “comic” style than the others.

Twisselman: Cropping is an art form in its own right, glad you think I’ve made a decent fist of it.

Carla: Desperate desires perhaps?

Big A: It could be, but it’s not - just some eponymous, albeit sultry, jazz singer.

stylish, delicious and glamourous. What wonderful drawings.

I love the isolation of red lips in the far right frame. And the texture of the collar in the near left frame.

Excellent work.

I can’t tell you how often i come here to just to stare…. You blow my mind… simply amazing.

Posted by Big Harry on 04.02.06 at 12.52pm

Sam: red lips sink ships.

Jaimie: Thanks, admittedly there’s some style here…mostly noir I hope

Catnapping: No lipstick on the collar, that would make for an interesting tale.

Big Harry: Thank you for the compliment, don’t be shy speak your mind more often.  I should acknowledge Big Harry as his drawings of fish last year led me to drawing that squid…so visit his blog (he’s got a wonderful quirky sense of humour and great illos)
