Medium: Colour Pencil/Graphite
Size: 360 mm x 530 mm
I managed to get some drawing done today, mainly to take my mind off things. There is a real difference between the use of graphite and coloured pencils as mediums - it just takes such a long time to layer coloured pencil. So whereas I used to be a slowcoach on the drawing front, I am now an uber slowcoach. Hopefully, I can complete this bird [ring-necked pheasant] within the next 2 weeks - a tough task given what I've got on my plate with work [yes the real job that pays the bills], and the confronting feathery detail on this bird's torso.

I think I got the comment in the right place this time…Looks like you did some more detail work on the pheasant…how bout a close-up shot…I finished up a small pointillism triceratops and have a head on a styraco 80% finished…but it has been in that state for about 2 or 3 weeks now (I had to redo the back of some guy’s pinball machine and doing some side work for a lawyer)...but I’ve found out working slower has some advantages because when I go back I see things clearer and make better decisions…that is the excuse I’m using anyway. Just funny that it seems we have the same tendencies sometimes…then I’ve always wanted to do one of the vinyl toy blanks and a skateboard deck and found a way to do both…just lacking in time…so I’m all screwed up…
