Medium: Colour Pencil/Graphite
Size: 360 mm x 530 mm

A waste skip was meant to arrive yesterday and today was meant to be spent getting rid of garden refuse and accumulated junk. Alas, it didn't arrive - so filled in the day by amongst other things doing some drawing. I think I made some real progress. I was in a particularly good drawing zone and there was a really good flow. Even all that finicky work around the feathers seemed pretty easy to complete. Given that the raven is done in graphite, I decided that I'd highlight some of the feathers so that that details stood out in contrast to the two more brightly coloured pheasants.

Detlef, this is looking amazing! I love the progress photos. This is one of the first times back to your site in a while. I’ve gotten back into drawing, and you always inspired me while I was at art school. So I’ll be here, a lot! Anyway, amazing drawings as usual, and I loved looking through your archives to see what I missed! XD

Wow! I was surprised at how kind the raven’s eyes turned out! Made me realise my preconceptions!
Cheers!
