Much better day today, great natural light, woke up with a clear head instead of a mild hangover as well. Must write note to myself to the effect if intending to draw the next day, drink less the night before. Really made substantial progress (for me) and easily found the groove, and a nice flow to the pencil hitting the paper throughout the day. Maybe whacking the iPod on and listening to music helped the flow and drowned out the other distractions. It was very coincidental when I starting working on the tropical foliage that Jungeland by the Boss came on random shuffle mode - if that isn't the greatest sax solo in a rock song, make that any song, then I'm a not good judge - without a doubt it's Clarence Clemmons' defining musical moment in the E Street Band, and career, can't top it really. Maybe I'll end up calling this drawing, Jungleland in honouring of the big man.
Anyway, this drawing is really starting to come together, and I'm having fun in getting lost in the detail which is good because there still two thirds of paper to fill in - all with exacting and fiddly detail! Nonetheless, today, was a big progression and I'm quietly pleased. <<Older Main Newer>>
