The weather around these parts remains atrocious - wet, windy, wild, and cold. The only good thing is its perfect staying indoors weather and the chance to keep plugging away on this drawing. I've started to work on the wings. I need some more form, structure and detail such as feathers on the back wing in particular. That will hopefully enable me to re-evaluate the body, back and spine of the golden bosun bird. and the colour value on the back wing, so I can get the correct back wing pose/perspective. I got to a stage where I had added feathers to at least get to the wing joint today, anything more and I'd probably lose some patience as I could feel fatigue setting in, and the natural light deteriorating rapidly. Still, I wanted some structure on that foreshortened front wing before I pack it in for the day, so I partially completed that, even if only to allow me to re-assess the whole composition in the morning.

Indeed a masterpiece in the making…the head closeup is great…the new blog layout is awesome especially being able to hit up the gallery…if you enter this in and it doesn’t win then I’d be shocked…can’t wait to see the finished product…

Oh, holy Moses, this is coming along incredibly! The feathers are astounding, as is the bird’s head and beak. Keep going, keep going, WOW!
