I thought I'd post this to let people know that I'm still working away - I was going to say strongly but that woul be an overstatement. At least today I completed all the golden plumage associated with the golden bosun bird, now having completed its back and central tail feathers. I say completed for the time being as I'll tidy up and get the hue right once the rest of the drawing is finished. Additionally the foreshortened wing is also done, with a bit more shading required to finalise the upper wing - alas the light started getting bad so best to leave it be. The predominant gold stands out a bit too much, but that will be tempered once a fan of white tail feathers are added as well as the darker gray of the background foliage is added. Quite pleased thus far.

This is coming along marvelously…great how the subtle detailing is really making this pop…especially like the foreshortened wing..look forward to the tail feathers getting plopped in…you have the pic in your head you are working towards but I am without that luxury so it is nice to see how you say you are going to do something and it will balance out the item…then you do it and poof it works…
