(Pre) Invention

...before there can be an invention there must be an experiment.

I’m not quite sure what this Dr Moreau-ish style experiment is trying to say.  I originally thought it’d be something different to draw a double-headed trout, then half way through I thought I’d add some accroutements.  Is this a comment on evolution, genetic modification, stem cell research, plain lunacy or just a visual experiment?  In hindsight perhaps it’s a comment on angling art and the need to depict trophy trout in a very stereotypical manner.  Seen one trout, seen ‘em all....hmmm....maybe not.

Beautiful graphite rendering! I like your concept choice… fish and evolution must have been on both of our minds. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if your two headed version reared it’s head(s) in a polluted lake sooner than later.

wow! what a beaut! Isn’t that what they say when you catch a fish? Imagine catching this fish! I think it would make me feel lucky, two is my favourite number… These dudes would never feel lonely! Amazing work as always!!!

I love this one, science/taxonomy type pictures are just great - especially if bizarre.

Beautiful work on this.  You’re quickly building up a folio of wacky fish images--with the Fish Fingers and the eel mincer.  Is there a Freakish Fish book in the future, eh?

It will never fly.

Oh! What a surprise… well done!! This fish has a backseat swimmer.
Beautiful rendering!

I like to think of it as plain lunacy MWAHAHAHAHHAHHAAA ...

Amazing smooth technique with the graphite, and a great idea to boot!  Is it just me, or does the fishy look a bit nervous around that scalpel?

nice pencil work… “where does the end of me become the begining of you”?

I agree with Modroom. It will never fly… But will it swim...? Mbhahahah! You have strange (but really nice) fishes in Australia..... smile
